I'm glad the three pictures flow together, I think it brings a sense of consistency to your work. I think you had a great use of repetition, and I definitely get like an old rock feel. I didn't particularly enjoyed this piece, personally I feel that it is a little bland. However, I think you did a good job with the montage.
Btw, we are pretty much doing the same thing school wise, except I'm majoring in advertising/Jour and minoring in digital media.
I commented this piece like four times already and for some reason it isn't showing up...!
At first glance I thought this piece was a bit dull because of the colors and arrangement of the pieces. After I looked at it for a little longer though I sort of got a meaning out of it, I'm not sure if it's what you were trying to convey but I thought it was interesting how it sort of shows how music has evolved over time. On the left there are older symbols, Lennon, turntable, etc, and on the right is an ipod. Very neat :)
I really enjoy how the first montage flows across the page from left to right. First, I am drawn to Bob, then it flows to middle with the ipod, following that it flows to the right with the guitar. In this piece I see music, love, and unity. Great picture of Bob Marley by the way.
I'm not sure what to add to this... maybe small cutouts of Bob and Lennon on stage. Overall, great piece!
This triptych has a simplicity that shows the artist's passion for music and speaks out clearly and well. I feel as if it is missing the POP effect necessary to really captivate the audience. More color and texture would add to the work. Where is Bob in the other pictures? The use of the musical tones and bottom lining create a great flow, but overall the piece needs more to it. It needs to really say something.
I am an art student at the University of Nevada, Reno. I am majoring in Art with an emphasis in Digital Media and minoring in Journalism. I was born and raised in South Lake Tahoe, CA and am attending Nevada on an athletic scholarship for alpine skiing; however, the ski team was cut after last season due to a diminishing athletic budget. Outside of skiing I enjoy playing a variety of other sports (soccer, football, mountain biking, etc.), playing with photoshop to enhance and alter my pictures, drawing, painting, exploring new music, and occasionally playing video games.
